Statistician Pianist
Yu-Ting Hsu was born and grew up in Taiwan. She started studying piano at age 4 and half, and continued to high school. Her academic interest was focused on the mathematical sciences, particularly statistics. Yu-Ting came to the United States in 2002 for an advanced degree, and continued to play piano during her graduate studies. In 2011, she received a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from the State University of New York, Binghamton University. She taught Statistics as a college professor.
Yu-Ting and her husband, Timothy Au, moved to Mechanicsburg, PA, in 2013. Since then, she has been studying piano with Ann Shurtz. She has performed at the Central Pennsylvania Suzuki Association annual concert, received the Guild Sonatina Medal with superior rating and completed Suzuki Piano Book 1 to Book 4 teacher trainings. Besides piano, she also studies flute with Molly Shortridge in Mechanicsburg. Yu-Ting is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and National Guild of Piano Teachers, and is planning to continue her Suzuki Piano teacher training.

Yu-Ting tutors mathematics and provides statistical consultation. She also plays at a church service occasionally.
Yu-Ting enjoys baking, social dancing, traveling and teaching Pilates.
